Understanding the Nature of Addiction
Living in a society of so much disconnect, we are all affected by addiction in some way.
If you are suffering in addiction, whether it be from substance dependency or behavioral, you likely feel that you have lost a sense of deep connection with your true self. You may have tried many times to break free from this patterning which you know deep down is destructive to your life and relationships. The nature of addiction is secrecy and deception. We tend to either hide or deny our addictions because we feel shame around it because often times there is so much stigma and misunderstanding around addiction. Acknowledging you need help and then reaching out for support and being totally honest with yourself and another person is a really important step towards your freedom.
We humans are “creatures of habit” and we pick up many patterns in our life- whether it be from our family upbringing, relationships, societal influences, trauma or otherwise. Some patterns end up causing more harm than good. I seek to bring more understanding to the nature of addiction, which affects us ALL in some way or another.

Transformational Recovery is a Process
"You can't rush your healing."
Transformational recovery is a process that does not abide by our societal time lines (as much as we would like it to be!) Having compassionate support, witnessing, reflection and accountability in this process and journey of recovery is essential.
Transformational Recovery is different from the more common recovery programs "out there" and it can be embraced along with recovery programs such as 12 Step. It involves building the resilience and skills needed to meet the challenges of your life and relationship. It also embraces non-conventional forms of healing, such as working with sacred plant medicines or other psycho-spiritual modalities.
It's about doing the inner work and outer work required for true transformation- making the changes in your life that will support your sobriety and bring more love and acceptance of self.
The tranquility that one seeks therefore, is "earned" through diligent practice and effort.
