ABOUT ME and how Music and Song has shaped my Life:
I've been singing since before I could talk. I remember making up my own songs as a child, in my play, and pretending that I was Cyndi Lauper (I was born in 1980). My love of music and singing did not go unnoticed by my mother and in my youth I participated in the Santa Cruz (California) chapter of "Peace Child" choir, in which I learned many songs about peace and unity in different languages and we would sing at different schools as well as community functions. I also learned piano at a young age and later taught myself all the other instruments I now play. Due to various factors in my adolescence to young adulthood I hid away my musical and vocal passions, only playing and singing to myself in private. In my early twenties, my passions for singing and music could no longer be "quiet" and I began to open up and share this part of me again. I began working in the Education field working with the youth and started singing back up vocals for various performing artists and my own songs started coming through again. And then I began sharing my own songs with close friends and then in small public groups. I survived some challenging and transformative years which propelled me further into pursuing my musical aspirations and at age thirty two my debut "Nectarian" was released to the world which was a big catalyst to my musical path that I am now on. Since then the gift of music has take me all over the world, I've produced ten albums of original music, I've taught and guided numerous song circles and workshops, assisted in many a healing ceremony, completed an EFT practitioner training, and am an initiate in the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition. I travel a lot and for the most part am based in California and Hawaii. In addition to producing music and sharing my music in intimate settings and in healing Ceremonies, I also support folks in addiction recovery and Integration of big life experiences. I believe in the healing and reconnecting power of Nature, Ritual and Sacred Sound and feel great purpose in life by offering these kinds of experiences with and for others. |
